Introduction

I am constructing this blog for two main reasons.  First, I am fed up with the level of economic and political literacy in this country.  I am certain that if we had a citizenry that understood economics better then we would probably not be in the mess that we currently find ourselves.  Second, I need to try to save my sanity by getting my mad rants and mumblings out of my head.   The mad is a play on words because I might be mad as in crazy but I know for sure that I am mad as in upset.  My hope to add clarity and understanding to our current political and economic events.

I am trained as a political economist from an institutional economics department. I have worked for a large corporation, small businesses, in academia, and state government. I am an avid outdoor photographer, cook, mother and reader. I am an aspiring futurist and love the field of strategic planning. While my political views do tend to be progressive, I have voted for all parties and am a registered independent. I would really like to see intelligent debate and reasoned arguments return to politics.
